October 22, 2024 - Week 39

It was National Heroes weekend and everyone received a day off to commemorate the seven heroes, of which one is a heroine (Nanny of the Maroons). In the week leading up to Heroes Day, the school gathered and displayed various artifacts, held daily trivia questions (which I was scouted to prepare), and had a presentation showcasing 'things and people of the past' (which again I was recruited to prepare...).

Some of the other vollies and I took this opportunity to venture up the Blue Mountains to enjoy the cool breezes of Strawberry Hill and to officially celebrate my birthday. Only photos can do justice in capturing the beauty of the sunrises, city skyline, lush mountains, and moon.
